Sportime Schenectady plans to build five dedicated pickleball courts

Sportime Schenectady announced this week that the tennis facility will replace two tennis courts with five dedicated, indoor pickleball courts.

The construction project is part of the facilities reconstruction following a fire in April. The new courts should open by late summer 2023.

Here is an excerpt from Sportime’s announcement:

Our indoor pickleball courts will feature permanent nets and lines and a professional-grade playing surface. Four of the courts will be regulation size, with courtside viewing and seating, and our “stadium” court will be oversized, with bleacher seating, to accommodate tournaments and special events. The pickleball center will be heated, air-conditioned and dehumidified for year-round playing comfort, with ultra-bright LED lighting customized to the layout of the courts.

Our newly reconstructed lobby will offer excellent viewing on both the ground floor and mezzanine levels. A new, expanded, upstairs lounge, overlooking the pickleball courts will provide the ideal setting for team meetings, parties, or just to socialize before and/or after play.

SPORTIME Pickleball will offer daily, level-rated open play sessions and clinics, along with open-time and seasonal court rentals, private lessons, league play, tournaments, special events and parties, and so much more! A detailed schedule of our Pickleball programs and activities will be shared soon, but members/players can secure your seasonal contract time today.
