Join us for the Arthritis Community Weekend at Siena College on June 21, 22 and 23.

The Arthritis Community Weekend and 2nd Annual Dink for a Cure Pickleball Tournament is just a few days away on June 21, 22 and 23, 2024, at Siena College. The tournament will raise money for the Arthritis Foundation and the vital services it provides in the community.

Below are all the details about getting there, parking, the schedule, wellness expo, food and the INSANE list of raffle items. The public is welcome to attend. The indoor pickleball venue has metal chairs and metal bleachers, or you can bring a camp chair.

Registration for the tournament is closed, but there are a handful of spots available. You can see the most up to date list of available spots on the registration page:

Getting there ๐Ÿš—

The pickleball tournament and Walk for A Cure are all happening at the Marcelle Athletic Center, which is on the Siena campus at the intersection of Turchi Road and South Road in Latham NY. There are several free parking lots right next to the building.

Friday, June 21
9 a.m. Pickleball events start (Friday has singles and Club competition)
3 p.m. Club Day competition starts
8:30 p.m. Pickleball events end for the day

Saturday, June 22
9 a.m. Pickleball events start (Saturday is Mixed Doubles)
9:30 a.m Wellness Expo and Raffle items open (see info below)
11 a.m. Walk for A Cure begins
1 p.m. Pickleball lessons available (donation to Arthritis Foundation suggested)
4 p.m. Day 1 raffle winners drawn
5 p.m. Pickleball events end for the day

Sunday, June 23
8 a.m. Pickleball events start (Sunday is Men’s and Women’s doubles)
9:30 a.m. Wellness Expo opens
3 p.m. Day 2 raffle winners drawn and Anna Leigh Waters paddle raffle winner announced
5 p.m. Arthritis Community Weekend comes to a close

Wellness expo ๐ŸŸ๏ธ

The Wellness Expo exhibitors include: OrthoNY, CRAFCO (sports surfacing company), Pickleball Galaxy, SPORTIME Schenectady, StretchZone and Stride Adaptive Sports.

Food ๐ŸŒ

Light snacks and water will be available to players at no cost. A coffee truck with some food options will be on site, and discounts are available this weekend for Arthritis Community Weekend and Pickleball participants at Bare Blends Eatery and Bellini’s Counter, both are about 2 miles from Siena. Bare Blends will be at the tournament on Saturday and will be **cash only**.

Pickleball lessons โœ๏ธ

On Saturday, pickleball instructors Gina Family, Mary Pat Knepper and Diego Lebron will be on hand to give “Intro to pickleball” lessons to visitors who make a donation to the Arthritis Foundation. You can sign up at Welcome Desk.
