Indoor pickleball courts to be built in Latham next Vent Fitness

Two local business owners plan to convert a former Kmart in Latham into indoor pickleball courts, according to the Albany Business Review.
It is the second major announcement in a week about dedicated indoor courts being constructed in the Capital Region. The Saratogian wrote about a plan to build an indoor pickleball club in Malta earlier this week.
According to the Business Review story about the Latham site, True Pickleball Club is leasing about 20,000 square feet from the Lia family, owners of the former Kmart at 195 Troy-Schenectady Road in Latham. The location is next to Vent Fitness, also owned by the Lia family. Read the Albany Business Review story here: True Pickleball Club to open at former Kmart in Latham.
“Jon Foshee, owner of Concord Pools & Spas in Colonie, is partnering with Mike Bibbo, co-founder of The Bibbo Group promotional apparel company in Guilderland, on a plan to convert a vacant 20,000-square-foot section of the former department store into a business that will cater to players ranging from corporate groups and tournament players to grandparents and grandchildren,” according to the story.
