Hudson Falls pickleball tournament raised money in honor of John Barbieri Jr.
The John Barbieri, Jr. Invitational pickleball tournament was held on June 3rd in memory of John Barbieri, Jr. who died unexpectedly leaving behind three children. Barbieri was very involved in the Hudson Falls community, including coaching football, and track.
The tournament was held at Derby Park Coleman Avenue in Hudson Falls.
The event raised money for student scholarships. There were 2 divisions: Novice (new and in some cases first time players) and experienced.
Novice Winners
Gold: John and Mac Williamson
Silver: Jan Sherlock & Gary Miller
Bronze: Maggie Potvin and Andrew Hogan
Honorable Mention: Tom Cooley and Paulette Wheeler.
Experienced Winners
Gold: Brady and Anton Gross
Silver: Mark Sherlock & Brian Ostrander
Bronze: Cammie Mazza and Mena Mazza
Honorable Mention: April Maclean & Carrie Mauro.
The Hudson Falls community is hopeful this will be an annual event, said tournament director Mary Hilliard.
